A verse by verse bible study going through the book of Galatians. This is a bible study produced by Living Proof rather than Lifeway and it feels freer and more candid than previous studies in many ways: lots of emphasis on the Spirit, conversations about race and women’s roles, fallen pastors and discussions about treatment of those you disagree with. It feels so timely. It is not a “light” or quick study - I appreciated the academic grounding of the study with lots of referencing of Gordon Fee, Richard Hays, Nijay Gupta, Longnecker, de Silva, Bruce, Schreiner etc. It has breathed fresh life into my appreciation of Galatians. If you can listen to the accompanying podcasts, they’re really worth it - Melissa and Beth have different personalities but both are equally enamoured by scripture, bringing nuance and additional flavour to the study. Shout out to the Galatians crossword at the back of the study - A big fan!

I feel like a horrible person for giving this study such low marks, but after studying many of Beth Moore's books, I was sorely disappointed. This volume is laborious and mainly uninspiring to me. I found the reading very sterile...almost clinical, with little tone of emotion. The homework is intensive and spends way too much time on repetitive themes of the law. I need something light now.

This is a very in-depth verse-by-verse study of Galatians. I see Galatians in a completely different light.

I love the book of Galatians and this study was a good one. I love Beth Moore's passion for the word and her insights. The reason I gave only 4 stars was because the lessons were incredibly long and there was a lot of quotes from commentary's in each day's lessons. Other than that, it was good study to dig deeper into the Word.

This is Moore's first Bible Study released after her departure from the Southern Baptist Church. While someone who isn't aware of the rift might not notice, echoes of her journey and of our current social and political struggles in the nation can be heard in the lessons from Galatians. Beth Moore co-authored the study with her daughter Melissa. I think that the result is a more academic style study that feels a bit more like a college level class on the material--which I rather enjoyed. I'm excited to support Moore in her new endeavor apart from Lifeway and the SBC. I think she and Melissa have a lot more to share.

Nothing like her studies from years ago. Semi boring, and Melissa was borderline offensive at times.

I have done several of Beth Moore's Bible Studies. So when the opportunity to join a local group presented itself, I jumped at the chance to study Now that Faith Has Come: A Study of Galatians. "Grace is God's unmerited goodwill freely given and decisively effective in the saving work of Jesus Christ. Peace, on the other hand, denotes a state of wholeness and freedom that the grace of God brings." One of the things I appreciated about this Bible Study is that Beth and Melissa's writings are so similar you would forget which one was speaking (they each had certain days for their writing/teaching portion). Beth's Bible Studies are always well-researched. This one was no exception. My Bible Study group also watched the videos that went along with this series, and I would recommend that as well. "An enormous test of faith comes when pleasing God places us in a situation where we will displease our mentors, or spiritual fathers or mothers, whose approval we've long enjoyed." One of the biggest takeaways from this study is that Christ has made us free. For some of us, we will live free, for others, we will take that yoke back up and carry it. We forget that we are free and go right back into bondage. The only thing that annoyed me about this study was when I would be reading and it would say "mom will talk about that tomorrow" or "Melissa will talk about that tomorrow." It was jolting and pulled me out of the study. Instead of putting that in there, it would have been better to simply state it would be explored further the next day. I always learn from Beth's studies. I have studied Galatians many times, but there is always more to learn. I gained quite a few new insights and this study will linger for a while. I highly recommend it.

This is my first “beginning to end” study on Paul. Honestly, Paul was not my favorite character from scripture until I read this book. Now, I’m ready to explore more and more, and excited about it.
Having daughters and reading through this study along with Beth and her daughter, made this journey even more powerful. Passing along our faith to our children is so important, and Beth, you have done this so well.
So many highlights and notes I want to go back to now that I’m done, but the following quote has reverberated during this season of my life. “ I don’t know about you, but God is often up to bigger things in my life than I want Him to be. I’d be happy with one little desire being fulfilled. While I believe God cares about my dreams and desires, I have come to suspect that God is also after the birth of totally different dreams and desires in me, one’s that are generated from and fulfilled in another, better world. “ This has been my life during this Bible study. It took me more than 6 weeks to complete this study because of dreams God was fulfilling in in my life, but I will be forever grateful for the study of these words on the pages of this book. Thank you Beth and Melissa.

Very detailed but so worth it. It's takes a lot of your time (homework) to do but you will learn a new way to study Scripture by breaking it down bit by bit. God will speak to your Spirit on each day with new insight. I have read this Galatians many times, but after this Bible Study, I have a whole new way to study Scripture, cross-reference, memorize, etc. that will lead into my overall Scripture reading and studying. A women's group at my Church just finished this study, and no one was not rewarded in some way. There are a few of us who are going to do the Study over again just to be re-emphasized on many areas. It's time to "De-Clutter" your time. Remove a few minutes to incorporate those extra few minutes to dedicate to this Study. It will be a blessing and most rewarding. You will then think it was well worth the time-consuming you may feel in the beginning. Don't let Satan talk you out of this Study. He almost got me with the time thing but once completed last week; I'm blessed! Outstanding job and such a blessing Beth! Teresa Rhodes

A study of Galatians would be great, Galatians. Beth goes on tangents all over the place. Be prepared to move all over the bible in this study to the point where you loose what is happening in Galatians. She talks about understanding context yet pulls a single verse in all the time to prove a point. Don't preach context then take verses out of context! Yes, some background knowledge helps understand what is going on but an extensive dive should be a separate study. You cannot fully comprehend the entire covenantal system of the Hebrew Bible in one day. Stick with Galatians and make it spurn an interest to go deeper. Also, teach people how to investigate the passages on their own, how to make observations of what is there. Make people think about what they read rather than asking to fill in blanks. I'm sorely disappointed.

Loved doing this study with our women‘a group at church. It was helpful and encouraging to delve into what it means to walk by faith with the Spirit. Also love Beth’s heart and intellect. Several takeaways I’ll try to note later when I have my workbook.
Dropped one star because I prefer the lecture to have a little more of the content (vs putting most of that in the homework), and the homework to be shorter. If I’m a SAHM with kids in school and I had a hard time getting it done, how does anyone? That said, what I did do was very good.

I didn't realize how little I knew about the book of Galatians until doing this study-- outside of the Fruit of the Spirit, I knew nothing. This is a fantastic study about the FREEDOM that is found in Christ and away from RULES of RELIGION. I've done several of her studies before, this was the first one she wrote after leaving Lifeway and the Southern Baptist Church, so it had a different 'feel' to it-- it's a little more theology than her previous studies. It's also homework heavy, so if you are in a busy season of life, I'd recommend waiting to do it.

Another great Bible study by Beth Moore. This is an in-depth six week study, verse by verse, of Paul’s letter to the Galatians. Along with the daily study, there are weekly videos and mid-week podcasts. Beth’s daughter, Melissa, is also part of the study and podcasts. Paul convicts all of us to stand firm in our faith and not give in to false teachings and that we should always be seeking God’s approval above anything else. It’s amazing how relevant this letter is to today’s society. I love her studies and highly recommend this one.

While I did learn a lot about Paul’s letters to the Galatians during this study, I found that I disagreed with some of the “interpretations” given - more from Melissa but also some from Beth. I feel that by leaving LifeWay as their publisher, they have lost some of their accountability to scriptural integrity, which is extremely important. This will more likely be my last study from these authors.

Really enjoyed this study! I think it hit me at just the right time in my life, but it really fueled a deeper desire to be in God's Word. I think my only criticism is that sometimes the writing or explanations weren't very clear- I just wanted it to be a little bit clearer on what they were trying to say. But definitely appreciate all of the research that went into this, which means I don't have to do it!! Maybe that is laziness on my part....🤔

Wow, Beth and Melissa really put together a powerhouse of a study here. Just the size of the book tells you how deep they're going to go, and while I am so in a place in my life where I don't have time for this, it was so good that I did my best to make time. The revelations of just how radical the freedom given through faith in Christ is will stick with me for a long time.

She goes deep, connecting a lot of outside scripture and having you reflect and really take your time. It was a great tool for accountability to make sure I was able to do an intensive study - something I’d like to do with each book at least once - so that when I go back to Galatians in lighter reading I will have a better understanding of it’s context and weight :)

I've done several Beth Moore Bible studies. This one was filled with MANY cross references. There were days that the homework took well over an hour and even then, I wasn't sure I was grasping the point she was trying to make. Even though I learned much from doing the study, it is not one I would recommend to others.

This was not Bible study lite, so if you are looking for something easy-breezy, this is not the one for you. I grew to love writing out the entire book of Galatians. I learned so much, and I am grateful for the opportunity to really dive deep into Paul's message.

This is probably my least favorite book by Beth Moore. It reads like a term paper and so much of it is written by others that I missed her fresh insights. This book didn't grab me like so many of her others have in the past.

I was challenged and encouraged by Beth & Melissa's study through the book of Galatians. I picked up so many things I hadn't noticed before. Beth Moore's studies are a lot of work, but so worth it! I look forward to participating in many more!

A verse by verse look at Galatians. I thought it would be more on the topic of faith so it was a thicker study but overall good and worth it. Really helped my understanding on many topics I didn't realize I needed clarification on.

This may be my favorite Beth Moore study ever. She went deep and it connected with the world we live in. And it was a book I wasn’t terribly familiar with. I loved the work she did with her daughter Melissa too.

Great study on Galatians. Interesting insight into the culture at the time the letter from Paul was written.
Overall, a lot of good sources of information for this study. At times, it felt very technical, but I actually think I got more out of it as a result of the detail.
